Map of religions in the Atayohkate. Also includes proposed spread of religion beyond my borders. Thoughts on this?

Trying to attach stuff still isn't working for me, so here's a link:

Foreign relations:

The Atayohkate pursues a pro-Shangti agenda. It regards Altaian, Raian, and West-Davaian states as natural allies, and it is a founding member of the Shangti Way, an alliance of Shangti states committed to national sovereignty along the ocean’s borders. Accordingly, the Atayohkate’s approaches bilateral relations within the region from a perspective of non-interference but non-indifference, meaning that the Atayohkate respects borders while reserving the right to back-channel criticism.

This view does not extend to Anarian colonies or states within the region. The Atayohkate is a vocal critic of Anarian imperialism, and a sponsor of resistance within colonial states bordering the Shangti or in Altaia. This policy does not extend to the Amajin or their republic, which the Atayohkate regards as an “honorary” indigenous group of the region.

The Atayohkate has cool relations with New Hapsburg. It regards the settler state as an “expansionist” and “imperial” regime, and it has accused the Stolvic nation of being an existential threat to Altaian peoples and cultures. As such, it has called for Stolvic settlement to be confined to the area between Naakito (the native word for what the conquerors call the Grün Bay) and Ne’hanééva (The Great Lakes), and for the dissolution of the “occupying” states north and east of Ne’hanééva. It offers regular financial support and training to native paramilitary groups within the region.

The Atayohkate maintains a militarized border along the frontier with New Hapsburg, and small skirmishes between the two armies occur every few years. It is also heavily involved in the politics of the “Xholate” state and the Thane Peninsula, and works through them and the Shangti Way to enact a blockade along the “Prosperity Gulf” and “Conquest Sea”. The Atayohkate has publicly stated that a Stolvic invasion of either “Xholate” or the Thane peninsula would be interpreted as an act of war against itself.

This will be interesting, are you intent on the Amajin Republic being a member of Shangti Way? You'll have to let me know more about this organisation like it economic position and policy on defence. Also if the Amajin in the future wish to project influence into the Shangti and maybe set up colonies of it's own, does the Atayohkate have any red lines?

This is something we could elaborate on later but this is my thoughts initially Smile

RE: Proposal: Northern Altaia/Manifest Atayohkate of Sipwika
Here are my thoughts on the Shangti Way:

I figure Altaian and West Davaian states have extensive cultural, economic and political exchanges - positive and negative - given their proximity**, and that they share a vested interest in denying Anaria any sort of clout in the region. At the same time, realpolitik dictates that they maximize their own power while denying it to other states in the region. So the Shangti Way is probably a sometimes hypocritical alliance of convenience of regional powers who are frenemies on multiple fronts but who share a desire to stop foreign imperialism. The Shangti is their pond, and it will be subject to their competing spheres of influence, not those of Anarian hooligans.

Example of hypocrisy: The Atayohkate is an empire =P

** Altaian and West Davaian rivers flow into the Shangti. Also, the Shangti currents form a loop, so they are very conducive to trade.

I like the sound of that. I imagine that the AR and Atayohkate would have tense relations at times due to the former's proximity to the Arctic Straits and Altaia. Also our nations may have differing views on our policy towards some Anarians. I imagine the Amajin have fairly cordial relations with Vittmark and Fisks for example due to her raw material exports.

I'm also interested in what the region of Altaia opposite me would be like geo-politically. They'll be a reason why you don't occupy it and why I'm kept out. I know it's prime land for a new nation if anyone want to set one up.
