Please stick to the main page of your nation for the time being, don't fan out too much yet because it's a hell of a lot of work to change everything if you want to change something. Once your nation page is approved for IG, then you can roam freely and add stuff just about everywhere!
Is there anything I need to do for Wiki nation page approval? I've created a main page for Stachelort and a colony page for Stachelort D'Runia.

Thanks.

Both pages seem well developed enough to me for you to open other pages and develop wider concepts now. The idea that you're nation page should be 'complete' is quite open ended since you can always add to it later as you develop your concept more.

All the main sections of your nation page have content which is good and so does you're colony page, already a relatively well developed colony by Gothan standards I might add. I also like your province maps!

Welcome back! Hopefully you remember me from Aurora (Eirennia Scotia, Etruria).

I fully support Jerry and I think we should do what we can to accommodate his return. He is a great asset to the game.

I definitely remember, Jeff. Nice to see Gotha still humming along!

Thanks for your comments. <looks down, shuffles left foot shyly...> Wink

Renaming Stachelort D'Runia

I have realized it's painful to refer to Stachelort's colony of Stachelort D'Runia. There is no shorthand variant, so I always have to call it Stachelort D'Runia in order to avoid any confusion. D'Runia is the continent and Stachelort is the homeland, leaving only the full name.

I am considering Lichtreich, with Aziland as the Hallish version and Azkihallpa as the native version. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I want something a little easier but makes sense linguistically.

Here's some background on how I came up with this:

The Gotha Regional Names map shows the area as North Aziland (though there is no South Aziland I could find), which I used as a starting point. The native language is Chankan, which is based on Quechan. I went looking for az- type words in Quechan, of which there are not many.

Quechan asii means to search or seek; ayqiq means refuge; asuy means approach; and azki means light. Hallpa means country or region; allpa means land.

Since the area is along the equator, the native azkihallpa (land of the light) could be Hallishized to Aziland, which is easier to say than Azkiland. The Stoldish could then be Leichtland. Considering the colony is a reach of power for Stachelort, and reach can be translated to Reich, I settled on Lichtreich, using another translation of light. This could also give a rationale for the name of the Reach Coast.

Another option I considered was Asyland since the German Asyl can be translated to refuge, the Stoldish word for the Chankan ayqiq, maybe including asii as seeking refuge and having reached it, maybe after a storm at sea, when attempting to find the colony. Even using Lichtland, the storm at sea and seeking refuge could also play into how the Reach Coast got its name.

I was planning Stachelort's colonial holding in territories 5020, 5021, 5022, and 5028, as noted in an earlier post. These appear available on the Gotha political map that I found. I have since come across the Amberia locator map that shows these territories as part of Amberia.

Is there a more current map of available territories so I can look for an appropriate colonial area without infringing on someone else's space?

Jerry

Ok, assuming the March 2019 political map is accurate, at least as far as D'Runian colonial holdings are concerned, I propose territories 5009-5014 for Stachelort's colony in D'Runia. These territories have a support requirement of 14, well within the Homeland's abilities. It's also at the point closed to Nester and addresses some of the resource constraints at home, so it seems a logical location to me. It's kind of like Amberia and Stachelort flip-flopped on holdings. Let me know if y'all approve.
