Within the United Lazarian Congregations of Auresia, the hierarchy and divisions of leadership are clear-cut and efficient. Through the structure of the Congregations, its concerns, needs and teachings are administered.

Background

As the faith grew in the ancient days, it began to gradually structure itself into a more "national" system, with individual sanctuaries banding together in order to help meet mutual concerns or needs. Gradually, the three kingdoms that precede the Empire developed their own internal hierarchies, but eventually the necessity of ironing out differences in teachings and doctrine compelled the faith to unification as a single entity.

Structure

The Mother Chantry

Collectively, the Congregations of Auresia are called either "the United Congregations" or "Mother Chantry" by the membership. Most commonly, the term "Mother Chantry" is a reference to the home of the organization, the Hall of Exemplar Vincent, located in Cedelphia. It is also the reference to that which the Reverend Father is leader of.

The District

Many sanctuaries comprise a district, whose territory is identical within Auresia to that of a provincial district. The leader of such a unit is known as an archprelate.

The Sanctuary

An individual group of Lazarianites are a Sanctuary. This can be as few as twelve or as many as a thousand people. In some cases, such as with the Porto Imperiale Eastern Sanctuary, a single sanctuary can have upwards of five thousand members. These, regardless of size, are led by a Prelate, who is assisted in their duties and the upkeep of the sanctuaries by its deacons.

Independent Monasteries, Convents & Orders

The independent orders of the Congregations, its monasteries and convents, all maintain a line of communication to both the Consistory at the Hall of Exemplar Vincent and to the archprelate of the district where they are located. Otherwise, they see to their affairs according to extant strictures and tend to be self-sufficient in many ways.
