Biography

Leotelli was born at 0154 hours on the morning of the fifth day of May in the year 7531. His father is the retired Field Marshal Charle Leotelli, who led troops in major engagements during the Pan-Anarian War and served with Military High Command during the Returner War, the latter of which his son served in as a commander of groundnaut regiments. His mother is the Countess Nilaria, nee Coradini. She is prominent as the chairwoman of the Imperial Philharmonic Orchestra, and is herself a master cellist.

A young Vittorio would travel to the Veneratio Scientia after his fifth birthday for his education in the ways of an Auresian aristocrat and as the future leader of his family. His great uncle, the Duke, was eyeing him to inherit the ducal seat, and himself a retired general of the Imperial Army, grilled his grand nephew regularly on a wide variety of subjects. As a student, he loved the historical studies of his schooling years the most, those and the finer points of mechanical engineering.

Vittorio departed the Veneratio with "O" levels in his final examinations and had a top line grade point for his class year. He received a Scarlet Letter for his work in theoretical engineering, mechanics and history..

After general education, Vittorio went to the prestigious University of Florincia, attending Calabria College. He took courses in engineering and mechanical sciences. During his time here, he took his forms of training in Via Vesica - Way of the Blade - a blade-fighting tradition exclusive to the aristocrats of Auresia. After leaving Florincia, he would move on to join the Military and began his climb of the officer ranks. He studied advanced officer subjects was assigned to a groundnaut regiment and later a groundnaut mechanical regiment.

Vittorio served as an officer in the ground forces during the Returner War, fighting at Belgadarion and Bone Pass, and also commanded the regiment that intercepted a fast strike artillery brigade that was attempting to ascend Mount Tryon to bombard Auresian fortifications along the critical Goronda Highway, a major traffic artery that connected across the border. He was injured during a firefight against Lavean infantry that had sought to cut off Auresian siege engineers attempting to plant explosives and destroy the Lavean artillery cannons.

After the conclusion of the Returner War, Colonel Leotelli was promoted to brigadier and moved to the Fifth Order. Having been left behind to maintain a strict watch on the Lavean border until the end of the two-year agreement period in the treaty that ended the war, the troops were responsible for shifting and reorganizing border watch stations and patrols.

After being rotated from the V Order, Leotelli was promoted to general and assigned to oversee training & doctrine within Sustainment Command and took authority over the affairs of the Armed Forces where training, discipline and doctrines were concerned. In this capacity, he gained a broader perspective of military operations than previously and gained broader executive authority experience as well.

In 7667 he was promoted to field marshal. He was vocal towards those who felt Auresia was wasting time in Vittmark, saying that any failure on the empire's part to ensure the nation's stability was a waste of the sacrifices of the Pan-Anarian War. Some saw his hawkish stance on war preparedness as the largest motivation for his being appointed to the selective General Staff. In this position, he would muster several specialized projects that are beginning to bear fruit for Auresia's military capabilities, including Project I71A and development of the ZR-57. Roughly a year later, he was named lord paramount and departed active military service.

Personal Life

Lord Leotelli has been married since 1 June 7551 to Gianna Leotelli, the daughter of a surgeon at Second General Hospital in Porto Imperiale. They have three children together - sons Charle and Aventus and daughter Lenaria. He is himself an only child. Rumors have persisted for several years that he is engaged in a homosexual affair with the Prince Quintus Victor Decus, younger brother of Marius III, Emperor of Anisora.
